10-Day Tattoo Course

 Students undergoing the course can expect to:-

  • Gain a thorough understanding in tattooing, and/or body piercing.
  • Obtain a certificate of completion.
  • Be certified in tattooing and/or body piercing health and safety.
  • Be certified in blood borne pathogens.
  • 6 month follow up.
  • Upon completion of the 10 day course, we offer both advanced, and refresher courses.

Here at BTQ Training Academy, we aim to provide students with the skills, knowledge and confidence required to succeed in the tattoo industry. 

However, make no mistake, completing the 10 day course will not be enough for you to begin tattooing professionally and any academy that promises this is misleading. Tattooing takes years of practice, hard work, and determination, which certainly does not happen overnight. 

However, we at BTQ strive to give you a strong foundation and understanding necessary for you to excel in your journey of becoming a successful tattoo artist.

Mon – Tue – Health and safety.

Students will learn all aspects of health and safety in relation to tattooing and/or body piercing. From blood borne pathogens, to cross contamination. Students will gain the knowledge required to adhere to government guidelines  handle any health and safety issue in a professional manner. A test will be taken at the end and if successful, students will be certified in this area.

Wed – Fri – Tattooing 101

This portion covers the beginning aspects of tattooing, from learning about the different machines, types of needles setting up your workstation and prepping the skin, to design, composition and stencil making. All the basics will be covered here.

About Boutique Training Academy

Mon – Business and social media

From the legalities and consent forms, choosing the right location to the various equipment needed. Here, you will learn about the different aspects of opening your very own tattoo studio. You will also learn about how to use social media to your advantage to gain an edge on the competition and make your online presence known.

Tue – Thu – Tattooing practice

In this section you will learn about the correct procedures of tattooing and be able to put what you’ve learnt so far into practice. By utilizing fake skin, students will be learning about  applying the stencil, line work, shading, and effectively packing colour, to working towards the final product and aftercare.

Fri – Tattooing a live model (final test)

Students will be expected to utilize the majority of what they have learnt up to this point by tattooing a live model in our professional studio located next door to the academy, and under the supervision of our highly experienced tattoo artists. This is the final test, and students will be scored based on the outcome. Provided the score is sufficient enough, students will receive a certificate of completion.
